Maybe you have a bike, but it’s been chilling out in the shed for longer than you meant it to!
Maybe you ride quite regularly but you still feel nervous about riding on the road, or being left behind if you ride in a group. Your friends talk about their favourite yoga classes but you’re a bit anxious about rocking up alone, and besides, which class do you choose as a brand new yogi? Perhaps you just want to do some yoga and ride your bike in a friendly, inclusive environment with like-minded people.
If you’re nodding your head knowingly having read the above, then Lifecycol’s Cycling and Yoga – A Beginner’s Retreat could be just what you need to help you to feel more relaxed and more confident both on your bike and in day to day life – after all, the positive energy of developing a new skill or discipline that really lights you up, transfers into other areas of life, leaving you feeling uplifted with an awesome sense of achievement.
From Thursday 29th March 2018 to Monday 2nd April 2018, Lifecycol are holding an informal, social, informative and fun retreat near the picturesque old fishing town of Moraira in the beautiful Alicante region of Spain.
During the month of March, this iconic cycling area is sunny and temperate with a balmy average annual temperature of 18 degrees; perfect when you need to escape the damp, dreary and incredibly long British winter! Early spring is the perfect time to put in some concentrated miles in order to prepare for any summer events you might have in the diary, or just to set yourself up for a successful summer of cycling back home.
Lifecycol’s Jonno and Amy have 30 years of personal road cycling challenges between them – that’s a lot of miles on the bike! Their last big joint challenge in 2014 was a 3000 mile ride from Scotland to Siciliy. This was actually Amy’s baptism of fire into the world of road cycling; in just 10 months Amy went from beginner to fully fledged tour rider, all under the guidance of Jonno! So if you have a goal in mind, even one that currently may seem out of reach, we can help make it reachable for you.
Moraira is located one hour from Alicante and Valencia airports respectively. It is one of the most unspoilt resorts in the area, with 8 kilometres of sandy and rocky beaches, interesting coves, backed by mountains and vineyards.
The roads around Moraira are silky smooth and quiet, with a great variation of terrain; you can go flat along the beach front or head inland to the hills where pro tour cycling teams can be seen getting their winter miles in.
At a Lifecycol retreat you can expect an informal, friendly atmosphere, fun guided rides led by our Jonno; long-time, super-experienced roadie who’ll teach you the basics of bike handling skills (and plan routes that involve plenty of brew stops!); pre and post ride yoga sessions taught by our Amy, aka ‘The Cycling Yogi’ – qualified and experienced personal trainer and 200 hour registered yoga teacher.
Not forgetting the all-important food, you will enjoy super tasty, nutritionally balanced, informal shared meals, allowing everyone time to get to know one another and discuss the adventures of the day.
Our retreat will be held at a lovely Spanish style villa in tranquil surroundings, with sea views, walking distance from the beach. The villa has its own private swimming pool, outdoor hot tub, pool table and table tennis. The landscaped gardens and various terraces mean that there’s plenty of space for everyone to find a quiet corner of their own.
Fear not, during your retreat you’ll have some precious downtime too – after all, there’s the pool, hot tub, and gorgeous roof terrace to hang out in, as well as gorgeous Moraira, with its lovely bars and restaurants, markets and fab beaches all close by.
Lifecycol’s mantra is ‘progress in life through adventures’ and we understand that each person’s adventure looks different. With only 8 places available on this small and personal retreat for just £375 per person, we can work closely with you to help you move closer to your aspirations for the timeless disciplines of road cycling and yoga.
We can’t wait to make progress in life through adventures with you in Spain! See you there…
