11,158 cyclists complete L’Etape du Tour 2016
The 122km, 2016 edition of L’Etape du Tour took place on Sunday 10th July with the final climb over the Col de Joux Plane into Morzine. It was a very hot day in the Northern Alps, making for an even more challenging event!
L’Etape always replicates one stage of the Tour de France route in any given year, and this year it was the ‘queen’ stage featuring arguably the steepest Alpine climb, the Col de Joux Plane from Samoens into Morzine, where this year’s Tour may well be decided.
Lifecycol did their bit, transporting cyclists both to Megeve at 4.30am for the start of the event, as well as returning cyclists back there at the end.
It was a fantastic day for Morzine and will hopefully serve to highlight what an amazing area it is to ride a road bike; definitely something to bear in mind when planning your cycling holiday for 2017. Let Lifecycol plan your next cycling adventure!
