What goes up must come down… mountain biking in the Portes du Soleil

Chalet Avenir is perfectly placed as a great mountain biking base. The Nyon, Super Morzine and Pleney lifts are all no more than 5 minutes away by bike, making for super easy access to the mountains. Morzine centre is only 15 minutes away on foot, which means that, should you want to venture out after your days’ riding, you can enjoy a few beers in some of the town’s buzzing bars and cafés.

At Chalet Avenir we can provide you with secure bike storage and cleaning facilities. We also have bike stands, track pumps and basic tools for bike maintenance at your disposal.

Morzine and neighbouring Les Gets boast some of the world’s best mountain bike downhill trails. According to Dirt Mountain Bike, 2016 may just be Morzine’s ‘best summer ever’ for 5 key reasons; Crankworx hit Les Gets, the season is longer, the lifts have improved, the accommodation is unbeatable, the trails are better than ever. Basically, it’s the place to be if you like to ride downhill!

The Portes du Soleil area boasts thousands of kilometres of downhill and cross country trails, an extremely comprehensive lift system, numerous bike park areas and the awesome mountain vistas are the icing on the cake.

As the area has been at the cutting edge of Alpine mountain biking for many years, the trails are very well developed and maintained. No matter what your level of skill or experience, there are trails for everyone; family riding, beginner downhill tracks, north shore tracks, skills practise areas, bike parks and a range of cross country circuits from France into Switzerland and back.
